Whatever we place in the category "Greek Traditional Dancing" and
"Greek Traditional Music" is whatever we managed to learn from our
homeland. The Cypriot traditional dance continues to hold a special
place at our school as the symbol of our cultural inheritance.
The Greeks are very proud of their wonderful history in music.
Throughout the passing of time a wide vairety of dance and music has
been born, loved and evolved. All the Greeks entertain and express
themselves through their dances and through the rhythms of their

Latin American dances have become very popular throughout the

to their social character and simplicity. Their timeless nature has
see them in many plush settings keeping parties going throughout the
world. Ballroom dances are a combination of a large group of dances

The Spanish
tradition in the creatvity of arts is one of the richest in the
world. Flamenco music and dance play an important part in Spanish
tradition which is said to have originated in the region of
Andalucia. It is a dance which expresses the local temperament quite
strongly. The passion, tension, tapping of the feet and emotional
charge of the music are its basic characteristics.
Ballet is a
way in which you can narrate a story where music and dance replace
words. It's roots go back a few centuries ago to the courts of the
Italian nobility. It wasn't long before ballet was placed in the
classical dance culture worldwide. In our mind the word ballet
reminds us of grace, charm, beauty and courtesy. Children through
ballet acquire flexibility, a good figure, grace and symmetrical
development. *Optional participation in IDTA exams.
Freestyle
Jazz was born in the beginning of the 20th century when Isidora
Danka abandoned ballet and devised a very personal dance style.
Similarly the American dancer Martha Graham developed her own
artistic style and later many prominent dancers followed. Freestyle
dance offers the opportunity to express personal feelings and to try
out new methods in body movement and expression. The dance jazz is
dynamic, expressive and entertaining at the same time. The intense
rhythm, the rocking of the hips, the isolation of movements, and the
absolute coordination are the basic characteristics of this type of
dance. Up until the 1940's jazz was danced exclusively to jazz music
but now jazz is also danced to the rhythms of other contemporary
music. *Optional participation in IDTA and ISTD exams.

year with the graduation of students and it completes the school's
entire years' work. The show is open to the public and special
interest is shown to attend it.

parties cultivating further the dance skills and artistic talent
